Sounds like an exciting event. Predicting the trends of social media would be harder than it seems... who would have predicted accurately the success we've seen with microblogging, remote device Web use proliferation, etc.

I do agree, however, from my own observations that the challenges seem to be not technical but cultural... especially in the enterprise collaboration sphere.
