The community spoke... Take a look @ the comments. Let's just say EA wasn't inundated with "Great Idea!" greeting cards.
EA responded - advising that they'd implement a less intrusive DRM solution.
It would appear as though they didn't. And the community isn't thrilled. Check out the product ratings for the game on Amazon.com. When I first came across this last night, there were 1,600 less than stellar ratings for Spore. This morning, it's at
1,800 2,000 2,100 and climbing. Granted many of the reviewers sight DRM as one of the core issues with the product. Regardless, how many consumers will see thousands of low ratings - and much negativity - and shy away from the purchase?
The voice of the community is a powerful tool on Amazon. When considering a product purchase, I *always* check reviews from current owners.
