Len,
Here's a link to a blog written by Professor Mary Lou Roberts -- she literally wrote the book(s) on Internet Marketing and she blogs regularly on social media trends. It makes sense for expanding corporations to seek user generated content from both internal as well as external sources.

The possibilities for corporate social media collaboration are endless. Transparency provides a lot of opportunities!

@Dorianne, thanks for stopping by and for sharing the links.

I also came across this relevant post from @mashable writer Aaron Uhrmacher titled "How to Measure Social Media ROI for Business" http://bit.ly/10m5NM

Most people today aren’t very receptive on being ’sold’ on something. They are tired of this method for business, and a new network marketing online method is now available that will make everything easier and natural…called attraction marketing, also termed as magnetic sponsoring. In incorporating the attraction marketing formula into your business, you act as an educator as well as a seller while you develop ongoing relationships with clients. Attraction marketing is all about making buying interesting, comfortable and engaging to the customer. The results will be much more favorable then if you were to try to hard-sell everything.
