I came across this post from Todd Feldman called integrating brand and SM and wanted to share. It reminded me of a conversation I was having with my father some time back... I was describing Dell's Ideastorm and our own EMC ONE, talking specifically about the ability for brands to engage with the audience for ideas and co-innovation. In usual fashion, I was all excited with arms flailing about as I tried to describe the very 'complex' notion of a 2.0 world.
He replied "You mean like a suggestion box? The kind we were using in the 70's...".
"Errr, well. Yeah, I guess. Kind of like a suggestion box."
If there's anything to be enamored by through all of this, it's the enabling technology that's bringing old school human communication and innovation to the online realm.
So here's something to consider... Step back and consider your strategy to leverage the medium. Does it read more like this:
