A social networking event to discuss Social Networking

I like my work, I truly do. I enjoy keeping up with the technology and trends in this space and feel like we're just past the starting line in terms of online evolution. Another benefit that I get to enjoy as part of my work is meeting very interesting people around the globe with similar interests.

I met a bunch of really interesting people during my recent trip to CA. Among them,Jeremiah Owyang of PodTech fame (soon to be of Forrester Research fame). We hit it off immediately and healthy discussions around the future of Social Computing ensued. During our conversation, he'd suggested organizing a Boston Area Web Community event - and I was completely on board. I've socialized the idea since returning and am happy to report that EMC has graciously offered to help by sponsoring the event.

The date is Thursday, October 18th. We're limiting the event to a hundred or so people, so sign up soon if you plan on attending. It will be a casual event - no big pitches, no agenda - rather some time for local area Web 2.0 experts to meet, mingle and share ideas. For more information, check out the event wiki and sign up.

I hope you can make it!

Cheers,
Len
